Debbie and Richard fell in love with Cranford the moment they set their eyes on it some years ago. They started immediately to restore Cranford to its former glory and now, with a great deal of TLC, this magical, peaceful place in the heart of the Midlands is looking fantastic. Richard had been serving as an officer in the Royal Horse Artillery and Debbie, a trained Cordon Bleu Chef, had run her own catering company. They pursued their interest and expertise in the hospitality industry managing a corporate lodge for many years and eventually owning their own Guesthouse in Hilton. Richard and Debbie’s daughter, Alex who is an experienced events coordinator returned from London and is now the Wedding and Function co-ordinator at Cranford. Country Weddings at Cranford have become increasingly popular and Alex and Debbie’s passion and attention to detail ensure that every Cranford Bride has an extra special day. Cranford is proud to boast their luxury accommodation, a lovely salt water swimming pool, tennis court and Stud Farm. The Blackburn family has maintained their interest in horses and has created the Cranford Stud with a foundation herd of Appaloosas. There are always beautiful foals frolicking in the pastures surrounding the lodge. The Blackburn family are truly thrilled to be a part of Cranford and together with their fully trained and friendly staff look forward to welcoming you to Curry’s Post and the magic that is Cranford. At Cranford there are so many activities to enjoy, not only are we situated in the heart of the Midlands Meander but we have fantastic facilities that are all on your doorstep! We have two big bass dams for fishing as well as a lovely swimming pool. If you're feeling active, our tennis court is available. Richard and Debbie Blackburn have had many years of experience in the hospitality industry, specializing in conferences and weddings. Debbie was born in England, and after finishing her schooling went on to train as a Cordon Bleu chef at Tante Marie in Surrey. Richard was also born in England and once he finished school he went to Sandhurst to train in the Royal Horse Artillery. After leaving the British army he became a military advisor on numerous movie sets, Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Troy and Beyond Boarders, to name but a few.
